Frequently Asked Questions

When will I receive my book?

We will aim to deliver your book in the first week of every month. We send Wonderbooks in the same delivery batch each month as this is the most cost effective way to do it. It does mean that if you start your subscription at the beginning of the month you will be waiting a few weeks before you receive your first book.

What age group is Wonderbooks for?

Wonderbooks are perfect picture books for you to read to young children – aged around 4 to 10. The books are colourful and beautifully illustrated, featuring adventures from children in different countries. You might even know a grown up or two who’ll enjoy these adventures too!

Do you have books for different age groups?

Currently, we only have books available for a single age bracket. You are welcome to sign up multiple times and your books will be posted individually, but they will contain the same book each month.

Who writes wonderbooks?

Most of the stories are written by writers from Save the Children’s Global Creative Team. Some children’s authors kindly gave up their time for free to give us a hand with some of the books. Two of our books, Lincoln & Lola’s Big Adventure and The Girl With A Book were written in collaboration with the children who feature in those stories.

Who illustrates wonderbooks?

Each book is illustrated by a different illustrator who beautifully bring each story to life. We tried to work with local artists where possible to bring their culture to life!

What kind of topics will the books cover?

Wonderbooks is a children’s book subscription will address a each month a new topic in a child-friendly way including: life as a refugee, education for girls, resilience, life in developing countries, migration, life in rural communities, life in nomadic communities, immunisation and more.

Will you provide any support for me to discuss these topics with my child?

Yes. Each Wonderbook will come with a Grow-up Guide to help you and your child discuss the issues in the book. There’s some information at the back of each book too about the real life children who inspired the story. We’ll send emails month to let you know your book is on its way and share some extra information about that month’s story. You can get in touch with us at any time via the Wonderbooks website or directly with Save the Children’s Supporter Care team, who will be happy to respond to any enquiries.

When is my payment taken each month?

Your payment will be taken on the same date that you signed up each month. Your payment is taken a month in advance. So if you signed up on 1 November, you’ll receive your first Wonderbook in December.

How many Wonderbooks will I receive?

For every month you make a payment, we will send you a different Wonderbook, every month, for up to 12 months (we only have 12 books). After that, your monthly payment will become a donation and will continue after 12 months. We hope you’ll be able to keep supporting our work to help children build a better future. You can cancel at any point by logging into your account – see our FAQ section for more information.

Can I get a set of all 12 Wonderbooks at the same time?

In exchange for a one-off payment of £108 schools can receive a set of 12 Wonderbooks with their guides and postcards. Once payment has been taken, the books will be sent in the first week of the next month. Order books for schools here.

Is it possible to receive more than one copy of each Wonderbook?
